Yousef Salimpour, PhD

Instructor of Neurosurgery

Dr. Yousef Salimpour is a neuroscientist with a background in biomedical engineering. His research focuses on understanding how the human brain’s network changes in the course of neurological disease, and how neuro-modulation, such as brain stimulation, could be used to restore normal function. He is currently working on a novel brain stimulation technique for treating movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy.

current projects:

Neurobiology of Behavior and Neurological Disorders: use of human electrophysiology including brain recordings from patients with epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease to study memory and learning

Brain Stimulation: using novel neuro-modulation techniques for treating neurological disorders such as epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease
